Practice situational awareness. We have to stay aware of unexpected dangers and joys we might miss otherwise because we’ve been too stressed-out or distracted, whether it’s an oncoming charging bull, a political snafu, or a job offer we didn’t see coming. Let’s keep our antenna out and make the most of the time we have. Otherwise cortisols pump our fight or flight mechanisms, stimulated by the headlines and other interpersonal urgencies as Mars retrograde in Aries squares Saturn and Pluto, and keeps us on edge — but potentially distracted from where the real work needs to be done.
The week ends on a willful, pushy note, but we can use that momentum, take advantage of that willfulness and strategic brilliance and do good work with it. We can make plans, write our senator, work at the gym, build or repair something substantial. If we don’t have something to sink our teeth into, it can be tempting to get depressed or to push people around or just get difficult as mental Mercury opposes feisty Mars and they both square the Moon, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto, all in determined and strategic Capricorn.
The mood grows more cooperative and less pushy over the weekend as the Moon enters Aquarius. In other years this would be a great weekend to gather to demonstrate or rally, share ideas with a new parent-teacher’s group. The stars encourage our extroverted side, the Moon in Aquarius, Venus in Leo, Mars in Aries keep us focused on the big picture and make us impatient with picky details and feeling confined.
