The winds are shifting. We’ll become more consciously cheerful but potentially secretly even more broody this week as the Sun enters outgoing Sagittarius on Saturday while Venus enters introspective Scorpio at the same time. While we can feel a new enthusiasm and look forward to the future, our hearts can perseverate over some old resentments or new obsessions, and that emotional torque needs to be directed carefully. Venus and Mercury in Scorpio won’t help the post-election Conspiracy theories — but may help the investigations get to the bottom and come up with solid facts.

Now the first thing we normally do when the Sun goes into restless, upbeat Sagittarius is to travel or host guests for our fall harvest festival, Thanksgiving, take a break from our routine and take a moment to savor the gifts of our life. This year is different, travel is limited, visitors few, the cupboards emptier, and Venus in Scorpio can underline loneliness. We have to tap into our creativity to reframe this time.

It may help to look back on holidays celebrated during the wars, during a drought, or after national disaster. Sometimes less is more, scarcity can highlight the sweetness and value of what we do have. Throughout this holiday season we may need to bunny- hop between Sagittarian gratitude, through Scorpionic mourning or frustration over who and what are missing, then back to gratitude…
