Active, muscular Mars is now in sensitive Pisces, an uncomfortable place for Mars, and it now approaches a conjunction with foggy, intuitive, obfuscating Neptune, a conjunction that brings wild dreams, melts boundaries, and can distort the truth. This conjunction instills imagination, which on a good day lets us drift and dream but on a bad day means we can get lost in our own version of reality and have trouble figuring what’s really going on through the haze of smoke and fog.

This year it also makes us deeply aware of our vulnerabilities and permeability; while it can instill compassion it also brings the danger of compassion burnout. We can get angry with people who do not take care of themselves, whatever we think that means. Pisces/Neptune also correlate with the archetype of the martyr, and we can get angry about the fate those martyred by police brutality or disease. Our temper sparks if we are made to feel unsafe and we can get furious if we feel our boundaries are crossed by germ or person. But this Pisces Neptune connection also gives us the ability to imagine a world beyond nasty polarity. From J Rumi: “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field.
