Bring in the May. Mayday is the opposite point to Halloween, two sides of one coin; new life after a long winter, death in the face of blossoming life. This week is full of these bittersweet oppositions, dog-tooth violets and early lilac whisper as the new virus tolls role in. We can honor the changes in our world and the people we’re missing even as we bring in the May basket and celebrate a new cycle of life. One definition of maturity is to be able to hold both sides of a dichotomy, to see the whole in these complexities.

Everybody projects their inner demons out onto the world, it’s how we uncover our shadows. Another definition of maturity is the ability to own back our projections and see them for what they are. Pluto and Jupiter are still conjunct within 2°, in Capricorn, one of the great ongoing aspects of the year, and demands lots (Jupiter) of Pluto (power, empowerment, death, transformation, finding hidden resources) as well as power struggles (Pluto) around our Jupiterian concepts of freedom through the rest of the year.

This line-up also exacerbates another Plutonian habit, conspiracy theories. Pluto underlines the parts of us that like to be in control.
