The Summer waxes full and time slows down in these long days as Mercury, symbolic ruler movement, speech, and our thinking process, prepares to turn retrograde from July 7–30. The stars encourage new business this August and September, but right now they ask us to stop, think, tell stories, and nurture our healthy extended family relationships. Get right with ourselves and with one another.

Mental Mercury is now in extroverted Leo, which can help us tell wonderful stories at a family gathering and turn a lively evening at the café into performance art. But we may see hyperbole in the headlines, and, as the week progresses have a harder and harder time getting out of our own mindset and truly being able to empathize with another, even when we’re feeling generous.

Mercury appears to slow down and almost squares erratic Uranus before it turns retrograde on July 7. Already our thinking may be a little strange and our life complicated by odd technical glitches and minor mistakes. As the week progresses, we may make spontaneous, last-minute decisions of questionable judgment. But maybe we do need that puppy or some extra time off.

On Friday a grounded and earthy Taurus moon encourages us to tend life’s practical considerations. The rest of the month may be less even-keeled, so it furthers us to get organized now. A more frivolous, diffuse and fun Gemini Moon over the weekend can make it easier to communicate, but harder to stay organized.
