Creative projects that were put on hold before can now begin to fall into place as Venus, retrograde for the last six weeks, turns direct and begins to move forward. Affairs of the heart begin to straighten out, the aesthetic grace notes of our life can feed us more easily, and community art speaks out clearly. We may be asked for a radical act of compassion in the turn.

Mercury and four other planets are still retrograde though, and so the planets continue to ask us to slow down, review our life and reassess our personal and political history. It’s still all too easy to use the wrong words or take offense easily, particularly when we’re in a situation that feels unsafe and leave us emotionally guarded (Mercury is retrograde in Cancer). So we need to keep up retrograde survival skills: confirm what we thought we heard, check schedules, stay centered so that klutzy problems don’t escalate, drive carefully, going enjoy quiet moments, make the most of delays, look for the side agenda that captures the heart and imagination for a few weeks. And if we suddenly feel charged, it furthers be quiet, step away, and think through our response carefully.
