Starting with Friday the 13th, a Venusian day notorious for the worst and best of luck, this week is packed with wild-card astrological aspects that can bring breakdowns and breakthroughs, confrontations, and collaborations. Let’s hang on to our seat belts and hold onto a vision of miraculous peaceful clarity and healthy strategy to steer our ship forward.
Our Sun continues to flare, exciting aurora borealis and keeping the heat simmering under world events. Big, year-long, era-changing aspects are set off by transits from the faster moving planets; Saturn conjuncts Neptune in Aries and they both sextile Pluto and square Jupiter.
Saturn is in the driver’s seat in these aspects, Saturn entered Aries a few weeks ago, where it will be for most of the next 2 1/2 years. Saturn In Aries wants to know who is in control and what the rules are. Saturn in Aries can incite both oppressive authoritarianism and healthy, competent, independence; it’s not wimpy, it’s done with talking, it encourages action. We have to add the wisdom.
Saturn conjuncts idealistic, confusing, and obfuscating Neptune -now through next winter-shifting our vision (Neptune) and testing (Saturn) our ideals. This conjunction asks us to put our spirituality into concrete action and let spirit lead us, not our Neptunian illusions- but the collective sense of oneness that is Neptune’s highest note.
As they conjunct in the early degrees of Aries they both sextile Pluto in Aquarius-in its several decades-long transformation of the collective group. This sextile adds intensity. This month, peaking this week, they square Jupiter in the early degrees of Cancer, expanding both the scope of the conflict, and our vision of freedom.
But wait, there’s more. This weekend active Mars squares electrifying Uranus and wake us up; we can crave change and need to choose wisely. Mars, symbol of what ticks us off and what makes us passionate, has been in expressive Leo since mid-April, adding pizzazz to Broadway shows and a performative edge to anger and willfulness. Also, fireworks to any conflict. Stay centered and aware to avoid explosions and accidents when we’re rushing or distracted by strong emotion. Mars enters Virgo mid-week, which can take down the heat a notch and bring more strategic critique with less bluster.
The Jupiter and Saturn square signals a stalemating opposition between the conservative and the liberal principles, between our longing for expansion, our need for structure and security. We need both of these poles creating balance in the middle, each one can balance or restrict the extremes of the other.
The weekend begins under a competent organizing Capricorn Moon that organizes on Friday, The Moon in collective Aquarius over the weekend and encourages us to gather for country fairs and big demonstrations- and asks us how we want to connect with our community and our culture while we wrestle with the big issues of our time.
Early next week a Pisces Moon makes us deeply aware of our vulnerability; we need to take a deep breath, catch up with our feelings, and honor what safety means to us. The Moon heads into feisty Aries late Wednesday and closes the week with a bang.
Let’s choose carefully where we put our energy and keep the vision beyond conflict, beyond the garden of right and wrong, and see if we can meet there.
Friday, June 13: We may feel like we’ve got a lot to do and want to get organized under the Capricorn Moon but could find ourselves spinning our wheels. Breathe, rather than feel overwhelmed. Prioritize and sort carefully, work on following through a few important things and let the rest go. Pragmatic building furthers, work on foundational pieces. Avoid a tendency to control or obsess under stress; self-control, not control of others, will be the key.
No major aspects-though we feel the impending aspects pressing.
Saturday, June 14: On this wild-card day we’re urged to connect with one another, be in the streets, in the gathering, in the action, all under the sociable collective Aquarius Moon. The mood is active, easily excited, potentially volatile under the impending Mars-Uranus square. We may not want to play it safe, but let’s make sure our risks are considered, and that we weigh the consequences before launching. Changes feel urgent and important, connections important, lessons learned fascinating. New beginnings in the wind.

Sunday, June 15: Astrological cross winds of contrasting aspects perfecting could stir creativity or create a storm as Mars squares Uranus and Jupiter squares Saturn. These aspects can balance each other out on a personal level, helping us find our center in the swirl. Power struggles devolve quickly, but where we can avoid that, we can put discipline and competence together. If outside frustrations start inflaming personal relationships, disengage; stand back and give them room. Action, memories, and old jokes can help with Father’s Day. If we need to vent about old problems -it will not further to do so in the family. Vent about memories elsewhere and work on changing the dynamics in the moment. We can see the problems but not what’s going to happen; do not catastrophize about the future.
Mars square Uranus 3:46 AM, Jupiter square Saturn 8:35 AM.
Monday, June 16: Collect news and organize the week ahead this morning. Stay flexible and be ready to adjust. After a tense moment or clash of needs right before lunch as the Moon opposes Mars, stand back from the heat and step towards kindness and safety as the Moon enters sensitive Pisces and trines Jupiter. Talk about hopes and how do we define freedom in a healing and nurturing way, that is Jupiter’s question.
Moon trine Sun 4:01 AM, Moon square Uranus 10:17 AM, Moon opposed Mars 11:30 AM, Moon enters Pisces 12:08 PM, Moon trine Jupiter 3:01 PM.
Tuesday, June 17: Personal issues which were put on hold now come due; Mars enters Virgo and the Sun sextiles Chiron- together they ask us to check in on our personal healing and the care and healing of the people and the culture around us. Stay straightforward about what’s needed, avoid passive-aggressive sulks or guilt trips; instead, speak up directly.
Sun sextile Chiron 1:15 AM, Mars enters Virgo 2:35 AM, Moon sextiles Venus 9:01 AM, Moon trine Mercury 6:08 PM.
Wednesday, June 18: It’s hard to get anything done this sensitive wandering morning. If there’s a collision of needs and a disagreement on priorities, don’t fight it, take turns. Our attention focuses more by late afternoon as the Moon enters action-oriented Aries, conjunct Saturn, and Neptune. Our desire to escape can be acute, we may long for vacation, drink too much, need a night away from familiar people, or just need to watch a good long movie. Pay attention and honor what needs to be fed but do it in a safe way.
Moon square Sun 1:18 PM, Moon sextile Uranus 3:34 PM, Moon enters Aries 5:07 PM, Moon conjunct Saturn 7:37 PM, Moon square Jupiter 8 45 PM, Moon conjunct Neptune 8:45 PM, Moon Jupiter square Neptune 9:15 PM, Moon sextile Pluto 10:56 PM.
Thursday, June 19: Expect some frustrations. An urgent need to do things could arise, but the movement can feel tangential, our energies can run on skew lines as Mars quincunx Saturn and the Sun semi-sextiles Uranus. Imagine our inner adolescent and mature adult self, the rebellious front, and wise elders, working together to make a better world. People need to talk about their discontent, but that doesn’t mean we can fix it for them. Let everyone have room to process and work together.
