It’s a week of summer magic laced with occasional deep frustration, of new solutions to old problems which run headlong into a reprise of the struggles of the last few years. The Leo Sun encourages us to live life on a grand scale, an impulse which can be frustrating in this pandemic time. In a more normal year, we be gathering together in festivals, outdoor concerts, running into each other at farmers markets and powwows, but this year we’ll have to get truly creative to enjoy these peak summer weeks while staying healthy. Let’s savor a meal in the fresh air and create a sculpture on our lawn. Leo loves a good spectacle, so political events and demonstrations responding to that reprise will be infused with leonine panache, an approach which can get a point across with drama rather than force.

Political tension continues to roil in this transitional time between Saturn in more conservative, control-oriented Capricorn and Saturn in progressive Aquarius. Saturn entered progressive, social-justice-oriented Aquarius at the end of March, right before the death of George Floyd, but has now retrograded back into Capricorn until mid-December. This reprise of Saturn in Capricorn can help us finish any structural projects or reorganize work to deal with Covid realities, but also grinds home some tough saturnine questions around control, authority, security, and work. Mars, now in its own macho sign of Aries, is both fueling government-funded mercenaries strutting through our cities and inspiring a rebellious Aries response to that military edge.
