The dramatic comet Neowise is now visible in the northwestern evening skies, growing invisibility until Thursday’s peak. It was named for the NASA mission that identified it, the Near-Earth Object Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, but this acronym- Neowise — also implies an infusion of new wisdom. May it be so. Astrologers historically associate comets with a year of unusual changes-the old phrase was “earthquakes, plagues, and the death of kings”- whether natural disasters or ecological shifts, epidemics, or regime changes, comets run concurrent with challenges which expose the potential for growth, novel ideas, and fresh leaders. 2020 has already checked off points on that score card.

This week rolls through in energetic waves, we’ll probably wish we’re at the ocean enjoying the salty seas instead of these energetic rollers. Conversation flows as weekend begins under a verbal Gemini Moon; we just need to wear a mask while we talk. This Gemini energy wants to picnic and kibitz, people may forget to keep their distance, since that could be dangerous now, so stay aware of the situation. Underneath this summery lightness and the sparkle of sunlight on water, the deeper work of our time demands attention as the Cancer Sun opposes this year’s heavy lineup…
