We’re heading into a competent, strategic, but potentially difficult few weeks. We have five planets now in Capricorn with a major conjunction between Saturn and Pluto arriving in mid-January. Capricorn’s symbol is that of a mer-goat, a creature that can dive down deep for a dream, and then walk that dream up to mountaintops. With a vision, a purpose, this Capricorn energy can help us make things happen. But we need a goal, a plan to get there, and a sense of purpose, to put that goal in the larger context, or all this determination can get us in trouble.
Capricorn on its high note calls us to leadership, to do the right thing and be honorable. Like Martin Luther King Jr., a great example of Capricorn, it calls us to the mountaintop. If we’re not connected to that sense of honor, service, and respect, deep traits of Capricorn, this energy can substitute ambition and manipulation. There is a sociopathic edge to Capricorn energy when it divorces from compassion and honor. Every sign has its shadow side, Capricorn’s competence can become the efficient thief, the political manipulator, a ruthless streak which says -anything goes as long as I get what I want.
