This Friday morning a new Moon in Aquarius (close to Mercury also in Aquarius) calls us to start a new cycle in our relationship to our pack, however we define this, whether we feel connected to the community of our family, our spiritual circle, the body politic, or the family of humankind. We’re asked to investigate how we relate to that larger group and balance our individual needs along with theirs.

January began with a once-in-38 years Saturn-Pluto conjunction which challenged or escorted out saturnine types, such as teachers, parent figures, mentors, managers, old systems and authority figures. We honor the good ones leaving and wave goodbye to the oppressive ones. But in its wake, as the ground clears, many of us are being asked to take on the next level of responsibility in our work, community, or family dynamics. Let’s look around and see where we need to step forward.

Another byproduct of that conjunction has been an outing of family secrets. We can see this in the political family of our Senate. But many interesting new connections are being made within families, unknown relatives appear, details emerge where there had only been stories or smokescreen. If this is happening to a beloved, give them a lot of room to integrate the new information, the foundations of their psyche are shifting and need time to adjust.

This week, with our focus on this bigger picture, our camaraderie with our friends and larger community may feel easier than our more intimate relationships, we feel the need for personal connection but may be just too busy or distracted as Venus in sensitive Pisces squares Mars in Sagittarius. This square between personal emotional planets can resonate internally, through our own conflicting emotions, or between ourselves and other as needs and habits collide. Just let everyone be exactly where they are, don’t try to talk them into feeling anything in particular. And let the conversation continue until all the parts began to understand one another.

This sensitive clash could intensify on Sunday as the Moon enters Pisces. Our feelings and our interpersonal signals can get foggy and confusing just when we need to understand one another.
