We have a new sun rising, a new chapter beginning this week as Mars conjuncts Uranus on inauguration day. Vulnerability and belligerence, friendship and service, these are all undertones of this week, while restless change and strong opinions manifest outwardly.
As the weekend begins everybody is a talking head, discussing politics, philosophy, and their theories on what happened or will happen as we prepare for Martin Luther King Day and the presidential Inauguration while mental Mercury in theoretical Aquarius conjuncts prolific Jupiter, though it can be easier to talk about the world’s condition than about our personal feelings. Layers of ambient anxiety, excitement, and concern about the future (no matter our politics) can leave us feeling vulnerable, and this can create secondary anger or exhaustion. These are all normal healthy responses to a pandemic and an insurrection, amplified by two nervy, change-inducing Uranus aspects — Jupiter squares electrifying Uranus on Sunday and energizing Mars conjuncts Uranus on Wednesday.
Those feelings can color how we see each other, how we see politics, how we perceive spirit. They can also bring a moment of breakthrough, gratitude in the face of all this for the way sunlight touches the nuthatch on the branch outside the window, the smell of air on a winter morning.
