As if we’ve turned the corner around the Cape of Good Hope and are now sailing into different seas, changes that kicked in last week on the solar eclipse as the electoral college voted- now pick up speed through the end of January.

To support our hearts in this process, let’s look up in the western sky at night and watch the approaching Jupiter-Saturn conjunction. Saturn entered social-justice oriented Aquarius last Wednesday, Jupiter enters Aquarius this weekend, and these two largest planets, symbolizing our social political milieu, form the Great Conjunction on the Winter Solstice, December 21 and begin a new 20-year cycle.

One theory on the Star of Wonder the Magi followed is that it was a Saturn-Jupiter conjunction; although that would be powerful in the natal chart of young leader, it would probably not be enough to inspire three astrologers walk across the desert. But it is auspicious for the year ahead. Aquarius invokes constructive, idealistic teamwork, a chance to decrease division and increase interest in social justice and collaboration for the health of the whole country. But we have to work with it and not ask someone else to do it for us.

Now just after the Solstice feisty Mars squares powerful Pluto- the last of the string of major difficult aspects of 2020. We could see a last gasp of frustration and temper in the politics over the weekend and begin to feel the peace of the coming time by Christmas Eve.
