Welcome to the fertile psychic loam of darkest week of the year. On Saturday at 9:19 PM MST the Sun enters Capricorn and winter officially begins. Let’s gift ourselves a moment of rest, if we can, as Sun appears to rise and set at the same southernmost point for three days. Listen to dreams, review the last year and release what needs to be released into a bonfire. Then our days begin to lengthen, the light slowly returns, and we celebrate, along with most cultures in one form or another, this return of light and hope.
The Sun in Capricorn calls us back to our traditional roots. We can feel a homing instinct, the hearth fire beckons and Capricorn whispers of the traditions and roots we’ve grown over time that leave us feeling stuck or make us strong. We will still need to take a moment alone when we need it. Motivating Mars is now broody Scorpio through early January and keeps personal and political undercurrents swirling. Mars in Scorpio also can give us a hell of sting if our temper goes, and it will go easily if we feel endangered.
This Friday is solstice Eve, a great time for big public gathering. The Sun is still in Sagittarius the Moon in friendly Libra, emotional Venus is just entered sociable Aquarius and mental Mercury is in honest, restless, Sagittarius.
