Even under this pandemic the birds sing, flowers bud, and baby animals will be created as the Sun enters earthy Taurus this weekend. No matter how ironic it may feel to us human in isolation. Next Wednesday brings the New Moon in Taurus, Earth Day, followed by the year’s most fertile days to plant seeds, ideas, new loves, or fresh projects.

This earthy, fertile time reminds us that even after the longest winter or the worst pandemic, new life arises again. It just may be awhile. This weekend it’s time to ponder what we want to grow both in our flower box, garden, or our images of our post-Covid-19 world, however many months that takes to happen. The ground is being cleared, and we mourn much of what passes. And who passes. Let’s plant carefully now, because whatever we plant in after Thursday’s New Moon in Taurus has every chance of growing. Work with that gardening metaphor, what crops, flowers, and healing herbs would you like to flourish. What ideas, projects and relationships would you like to bud and bloom. Nourish those seedlings, even if only in the sheltered greenhouse of quarantine.

Saturn, Jupiter, and Pluto conjunct over the last four months, aspects that echo through the year and ask us to look life, death, and the world’s problems squarely in the face. Then clear away what is unessential, weeds and what clog up our life. First Saturn conjunct Pluto, and we lost so many elders- first to fate, and then to the virus.
